"There's no point to any of this. It's all just a random lottery of meaningless tragedy and a series of near escapes. So I take pleasure in the details. You know...a quarter pounder with cheese, those are good., the sky about ten minutes before it starts to rain, the moment where your laughter becomes a cackle, and I sit back and I smoke my Camel Straights and I ride my own melt." ~Troy (Reality Bites)

"How did I get to be such a mess so early in my life?"

"Sometimes I wish I had never met you. Because then I could go to sleep at night not knowing there was someone like you out there." ~Dr. Lambeau (Good Will Hunting)

"You could tell me why you've been avoiding me all day, or what's behind that look in your eyes. Whether it's repulsion or jealousy or complete dissaproval 'cause I know I've never seen it from you before. You could tell me that you suddenly feel strange about us, that maybe we need a little break cause you don't seem to know me and maybe you never really did. Or, and now I'll make it really easy for you Dawson, you could just tell me if I've left anything out. (pause) I didn't think so." ~Jen

"You're born and you die, and you make a lot of mistakes in between." ~Joey

Joey: You don't think we're friends anymore? Dawson: I don't know. Are we more? Are we less? All I know is it's not the way it used to be. Nothing is anymore. Joey: It's called social evolution, Dawson. What's strong enough survives and what doesn't we look at behind glass cases in science museums. Dawson: You and I? Are we museum bound? Joey: I don't know about that...You get angry at me too easily. Dawson: You are way too critical of me. Dawson: You know, in some alternate universe, we must have been married. Joey: I'm sure it was a wonderful wedding Dawson: Oh. The best. Joey: We each brought dates, I assume. Dawson: Yeah, Jen was by my side throughout. Joey: And at the end of the evening the enevitable. Who to take home, the date or the wife? Dawson: Hmmm... a dilemma. Joey: But fascinating. Faced with the choice you stood. Surveying your options. Your eyes drift slowly from her to me... and back to her. Dawson: And back to you. Joey: Yeah, but I was off having a drink with the rich guy at the bar. Dawson: Till Moneybags got fresh and you needed someone to bail you out. Joey: Really? I don't remember that part. Dawson: Oh, I do. Clear as day. Absolutely. You were in definite need of a rescue. Joey: Were you man enough? Did you set aside your clear headed analysis of the situation and act? Did we save each other that night, Dawson? Dawson: You know...I...gets a little hazy at that point. I really don't remember. Couldn't tell you. Joey: Well, when it comes back to ya I'd certainly be curious how it all ended. Dawson: You'll be my first call. Joey: Goodnight, Dawson. All this subtext is making me tired.........Dawson? Dawson: Yeah? Joey: No matter how the wedding turned out, I'm pretty sure I had a wonderful time up until the end. Dawson: Yeah ...me too. Joey: .....No doubt about it...straight to the Smithsonian.

"I hate to break it to you Dawson, but your problems really aren't that original."~Joey

"Alright, Joe, say goodbye to the nice serial rapist man."~Pacey

"I'd like to tell today's youth that no matter where life takes you- Big cities, small towns; You'll inevitably come across small minds. People who think they're better than you are. People who think that material things, Or being pretty, or popular Automatically make you a worthwhile human being. I'd like to tell today's youth that None of these things matter- Unless you have a strength of character, integrity, a sense of pride. And if you're lucky enough to have any of these things- Don't ever sell 'em... don't ever sell out. So when you meet a person for the first time, Don't judge them by their station in life- 'Cause who knows... that person just might end up being your best friend." 'Joey Potter

you've changed so much. i guess thats what happens. i wish you knew how much you changed me. i wonder if i changed you, if your life is different because of me. because mine's different. my god, you taught me so much, and now we don't even talk to each other. i guess that's what happens

"Can't make too many plans, Robin. Nothing lasts forever." Stone Cates "You may not love me today, tomorrow, or ever. But I will love you until it kills me. And even then you will be in my heart."

"When you said you didn't need me, I didn't expect you to be right."

"I used to believe in the love songs that took me so long to write down. Every word you say takes my breath away, but I guesss I should know better by now."

"It still hasn't sunk in yet... I haven't totally realized that he's pushed me out of his heart forever... but I'm not sure I want it to hit me fully yet because I know that, when it does, I will feel pain like nothing I have ever felt before."

"Being without you takes a lot of getting used to; I should learn to live with it, but I don't want to."

"It shoulda fit like a glove, shoulda fit like a ring. Like a diamond ring, token of a true love. It shoulda all worked out but it didn't. She should be here now, but she isn't...And you can say I love you, you can see she doesn't but you just keep holding on. There's your trouble." --Dixie Chicks, There's Your Trouble

"It doesn't bother me to say this isn't love because if you don't want to talk about it, then this isn't love And I guess I'm going to have to live with that, But I'm sure there's something in a shade of grey, something in between."

"You don't know what you do to me, you don't have a clue. You can't tell what its like to be me looking at you."

"I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them."

"Sometimes, we love things because we cannot have them. When we can, we don't love them as much."

"I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them."

"A heart is not a play thing. A heart is not a toy, but if you want it broken give it to a boy."

"Love who you want to love but make sure your prepared to handle the fact that they might not love you back."

"Let me be angry. . .please. It is the only way I can keep you from seeing how much I need you."

"Have you ever been in love? Horrible, isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens your heart and it means someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses. You build up this whole armor, for years, so nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life....You give them a piece of you. They don't ask for it. They do something dumb one day like kiss you, or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so a simple phrase like "maybe we should just be friends" or "how very perceptive" turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a body-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love."

Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with everything they've got.

You're on the verge of going crazy and your heart's in pain no one can hear though your screaming so loud You feel all alone in a faceless crowd. Sitting on the side. Waiting for a sign. Hoping that my luck will change. Reaching for a hand that can understand, someone who feels the same.

Even when I pour my heart out to you, I'm not sure it shows, that I love you more than you'll ever know.

When I see your smile, and know that it is not for me, that is when I will miss you.

Do you know what it's like to give your whole self to a person, and your whole heart, until you've got nothing left to give, and then realize that it still isn't what they need?

When you long with all your heart for someone to love you, a madness grows there that shakes all sense from the trees and the water and the earth. And nothing lives for you, except the long deep bitter want. And this is what everyone feels from birth to death. ---Denton Welch

Sometimes you'd risk anything for someone you love. But it's always different when they don't say 'I love you'.

I'm thinking this is an obsession, and hoping it's not; and hoping it's love, but thinking it's not.
